RODRIGO (Rodrigo Borgia, 1431 - 1503)

Rodrigo Borgia, born in 1431, was the noble nephew and adopted son of Pope Calixtus III, who brought him to Italy to give him the best humanist education of the time. He will have a great ecclesiastical career (eventually becoming pope, Alexander VI in 1492). He was a great patron of the arts, protected many artists, and modernized the Vatican’s administration.
